Jonestown Memorial Wall
Surviving family members of those who died at Jonestown in
1978 plan to erect a granite wall in Oakland, CA, that will list all of the victims.
"Those were our family, our friends and neighbors," said Los Angeles Pastor
Jynona Norwood, who lost 27 relatives at Jonestown. Cult Awareness Network president
Patricia Ryan, whose father Congressman Leo Ryan was murdered while investigating
Jonestown, said at a recent ceremony for some 400 Peoples Temple members buried under a
single gravestone in Oakland, "Theres a collective American psyche that
doesnt want to admit that it happened, let alone that it could happen again."
