Psychological Manipulation, cult
groups, sects, and new religious movements

Project Alert encourages public discussion
of cults and related
issues and educates youth, the general public, professionals, and the media. Through
Project Alert, AFF distributes publications,
audiovisual aids, and other teaching resources, offers lectures, conferences,
and workshops, and contributes to radio and television programs.
AFF's
information service responds annually to more than 5,000 inquiries about cults and high-control
situations, thought
reform, and psychological manipulation and abuse.
AFF provides general information, documentation, and
interviews to the media, including 20/20, 60 Minutes, Frontline,
MacNeil/Lehrer, CNN, BBC,Today Show, Washington
Post, New York Times, London Times, Newsweek, Modern
Maturity, and the Congressional Quarterly Researcher.
AFF's professional outreach programs offer training for educational, religious, mental health, legal, and other
professionals.
